Do the surveys collect any qualitative data?

In our surveys, most of the questions ask students to rate (on a 6-point scale) how much they agree or disagree with specific statements. This enables instructors to learn what percent of their students are experiencing specific learning conditions. 


Often, instructors also find it useful for students to explain why they agree or disagree with a given statement. Therefore, when students answer the agree-disagree questions, one question is randomly chosen for students to explain their answer in an open response field (see below). To protect privacy, responses to those open questions are only shown on Class Reports (which can only be accessed by Class Leads or individuals with whom Class Leads share reports).
